This is a little music game to help get and keep you creative. If you've got writers block this could be helpful in breaking down that wall. If you're a little creative fiend and just need another excuse to write another jam, please join in too. All are welcome. Art is art.
Each week on a Monday at 8 p.m. a task will be posted - that's normally the blog post just after this one. Every Sunday at 8 p.m. I shall post up that weeks submissions.
If you wish to join in please read the rules and FAQ first. If you have any questions or comments you can leave a reply here or email me (russellevans100 [at] hotmail [dot] com) . Thanks.

In true Russ fashion I slacked out and didn't get around to posting anything yesterday. I'm sorry. But at least I was able to write and record song in 10 minutes.
September 29th - Goodbye But Not Goodbye
Joe Holtaway - Goodbye
The Congress Roses - One Last Song Of The Week
Fading Stars In Autumn - Last One
So that's it; a small chapter, like a Dan Brown novel, over with in our lives. I want to thank each and everyone of you who has taken part, put in time and effort into Song Of The Week - whether it's been coming up with a theme because I've lamed out or busting out some vibes and jams to fill up the weeks; it really does mean a lot that you would even consider putting in some time and I do hope you've enjoyed the past 11 months.
I hope SOTW has been of some use, either as a time waster, something to help you get creative or something to help you focus a lot more. I can honestly say I shall be taking something from each one of you. SOTW has definitely helped me improve my songwriting and I've written a couple of my best songs to date because of this game.
Anyways, we all know this isn't a real goodbye. I'm sure we've all made friendships from this and I know that I shall be bugging Stacie on whats hot on TV, asking Joe if he's listened to the new Limbeck album yet or just talking about my days with Olivia.
Peace out.

This is kind of like Angel season 5, it all lead up to one point. If you haven't watched Angel or any of the Buffyverse you don't know what you're missing out on.
The theme this week, this final week, and to keep things mega on the cheese-o-matic scale, is a theme titled Goodbye.
Just write a song about a goodbye situation.

Joe actually has a song on it's way, but he's out of town for a little while. That song should be up by Wednesday
September 29th - Visions Of You
Joe Holtaway - Wolves

So next week I figure will be the last week for SOTW. I've lost the energy for it and just don't have the time to give everything to attention it needs.
This week shall be a free for all week and I will actually have a theme for once next week. If you guys want to bust in some themes before we say goodbye, that's cool. Just let me know and I'll slot them in between the last week.

I've searched my brain all day for some form of theme but I'm really lucked out of ideas. So it's another one of those weeks where you just write what you want, even a cover.

Sorry, I slacked out again. I'm finding myself with little or no time this week, and I was going to ad lib something but I figure I would just be screwing myself out of being creative. The good news is Olivia and Joe are both busting out the jams.
September 29th - Cough Song
Joe Holtaway - Rooms Around This Town

So yeah, it's free for all time. Bust the jams, yo!
